My client is urgently looking for a contract Financial Data Analyst. The analyst will reconcile finance data and business/operational data across multiple systems and reports to ensure accurate, reliable information for decision-making. The role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of process, and an interest in data quality, controls, and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications & experience:
At least 3 years’ experience in data analysis, reporting, finance operations, reconciliation, or a similar analytical role (internships/placements welcome).
Strong Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, filters, data checks).
Basic SQL skills for extracting and comparing data across systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to spot small inconsistencies in large datasets.
Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly for investigating exceptions and variance drivers.
Ability to document processes clearly and maintain accurate audit trails and issue logs.
Effective communication skills and confidence working with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in recurring reporting cycles.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Nice to have:
Exposure to ERP, CRM, BI, or financial systems.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting/visualisation tools.
Familiarity with process improvement, controls, or data quality initiatives.
Understanding of basic accounting concepts, general ledger structures, or financial reporting.
Experience working with multiple entities, currencies, or European markets.
