Position: Learning & Development Manager
This is a key role is within the Global A&A department of BDO Global Office.
As the Learning and Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the professional journey of our colleagues worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to lead the charge in crafting a global A&A learning and development strategy, ensuring that our teams at all levels, from new hires to seasoned leaders, are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.
Your expertise will drive the creation of targeted programmes, and you’ll be comfortable working strategically, as well as hands-on delivery.
You are someone who is an experienced professional and comfortable working both as part of a team and also alone, taking responsibility for their own tasks. You are proactive and keen to collaborate with others, communicating regularly with internal and external key stakeholders at all levels.
Key accountabilities
- Translate business strategy and desired business outcomes into training needs and solutions
- Gain a full working knowledge of A&A working alongside stakeholders to identify training and development needs to design effective training programmes
- Design and manage a Global Curriculum for A&A, encompassing the technical and business learning needs of staff and partners across BDO
- Create and execute learning strategies and programs in line with the Global Curriculum
- Implement various learning methods designed to produce the appropriate high-quality training that meets business needs. This will include eLearning, on-demand courses, conferences as well as classroom training but can also expand to other methods such as coaching, mentoring etc.
- Monitor success of curricula, strategies and programs and report to key stakeholders along with recommendations
- Research, source, and negotiate agreements with external training providers/vendors
- Manage the content development and delivery of training related projects
- Act as the first point of contact for all A&A related training and development requirements and queries within BDO.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an L&D Manager, Training Manager or similar
- Current knowledge of effective Learning & Development methods including adult learning principles, training needs analysis, learning outcomes approaches and use of eLearning and other technologies
- Experience in project management and budgeting
- Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Experience working in an international organisation would be beneficial
- Professional certification (e.g. CPLP, CIPD) is a plus although candidates with other practical experience will be considered
- Creative thinker with the ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to build rapport with BDO colleagues, including subject matter experts and external vendors
- A passion for learning and a commitment to the professional development of others.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and drive other team members, and to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Proficient in English.
