Managing Director – Public Sector Consulting

We’re partnering with a top-tier change and transformation consultancy recognised for delivering large-scale, outcome-led programmes across complex public sector environments.
They are now seeking a senior Consulting Leader to own and grow their Public Sector Transport portfolio, taking full responsibility for client relationships, revenue growth, and delivery quality across major transport bodies and infrastructure organisations.
You will likely be:
- A Managing Director / Partner / Director within a consultancy or professional services firm
- Currently leading Public Sector Transport accounts with £5m+ annual revenue
- Selling and delivering complex, multi stream transformation programmes
You must bring:
- Deep Public Sector Transport domain expertise
- A strong UK public sector network across transport and infrastructure
- Proven revenue growth and commercial ownership experience
- Experience scaling consulting teams and building long-term capability
- A hands-on, outcomes-focused leadership style with P&L accountability
You’ll be responsible for:
- Owning and growing a multi million pound Public Sector Transport portfolio
- Acting as the executive client lead across key transport accounts
- Defining and executing sector and account growth strategy
- Originating, selling, and delivering large, complex transformation programmes
- Leading engagements across: Op Model Transformation, Programme & Portfolio Delivery, Digital/Customer Transformation or Organisational Change at scale
- Managing P&L, margin, forecasting, and portfolio performance
- Building, leading, and mentoring senior consulting teams
- Strengthening market presence through senior stakeholder engagement and thought leadership
Big 4 or Tier 1 consultancy background preferred; high-growth consultancies with credible public sector impact also welcomed.
