Our client, a well‑established engineering business within the rail sector, is expanding and we’re supporting them in the search for a talented Production Engineer to join their growing team.

The Role:

As the Production Engineer, you’ll take ownership of planning, improving, and controlling production processes across both workshop and mobile engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Planning day‑to‑day workloads across various departments
• Allocating labour to maximise productivity
• Reducing downtime and eliminating workflow bottlenecks
• Driving continuous improvement and lean initiatives
• Providing technical support on coatings, repairs & surface preparation
• Ensuring work meets customer specifications and quality standards
• Supporting safety compliance, RAMS, COSHH & best working practices
• Managing equipment maintenance and identifying tooling upgrades
• Working closely with customers and project teams on technical requirements

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in production/process engineering
• Knowledge of coatings, blasting, surface prep, or workshop operations
• A background in continuous improvement or lean methods
• Strong planning, communication, and problem‑solving skills
