Main purpose of job role

To provide efficient and effective technical and operational support to all production activities at PFG New Milton site.

Up To £50k Based On Experience

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure all company standards and Health and Safety protocols are strictly adhered to at all times
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Generation and maintenance of production documentation
  • Creation of detailed manufacturing Routings and Structures
  • Tool design, implementation and validation
  • Engineering Change Order implementation
  • Identify process improvements and lead their implementation
  • Programming of special purpose machinery
  • Identify and implement new technology / equipment / tools to drive process improvement
  • Derive data driven justifications for either operational improvement and / or cost reduction initiatives
  • Drive process improvement in order to continuously enable cultural change
  • Using problem solving skills and lean methodology to drive efficiency gains for all production processes
  • Manufacture and modification of tooling as necessary
  • Involvement in production readiness (NPI/NPD) activities in conjunction with the Technical department

Essential Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
  • HNC/HND or equivalent experience

Desirable Qualifications

  • Manufacturing Engineering Degree or similar

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Good knowledge of MS Office is essential
  • Broad understanding of CAD and CAM systems
  • Familiar with using ERP systems
  • Sound knowledge of technical drawings
  • Ability to use a wide range of machinery including sheet metal tools, lathes and mills
  • Knowledge of business processes and procedures to ISO standards
  • Skilled in leading/implementing process improvement activities
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Sound problem solving ability
  • Excellent communication, numeracy, literacy and time management skills

Experience Required

  • Experience in a Manufacturing/Production Engineering role, driving continuous improvement and cultural change
  • Tool design using CAD to implement new and improved processes
  • Using measurement to improve process capability
  • Use of data to guide problem solving
  • Delivery of production efficiency gains by championing improvement projects
  • Leadership of NPI and equipment projects into production
  • Experience with fabrication and assembly processes
  • Experience of welding processes (desirable)
  • Plastic injection molding experience (desirable)
  • Filtration industry experience (desirable)
