Business Development Manager – Marketplace
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey or Haywards Heath, West Sussex (hybrid).
Responsibilities
- Drive marketplace growth and partner management: deliver sales targets via cross‑sell and upsell strategies.
- Build and nurture long‑term relationships with marketplace merchants.
- Track partner performance, uncover growth opportunities and ensure solutions create clear client value.
- Contribute directly to broader commercial and business objectives.
- Enable Sales and Customer Success teams with training, insights and materials to confidently sell marketplace solutions.
- Support Professional Services with solution expertise and implementation coordination.
- Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless delivery and strong commercial outcomes.
- Support escalated client queries related to marketplace solutions, ensuring swift resolution.
- Act as a key link between clients, internal teams and marketplace partners to support smooth onboarding and ongoing adoption.
Qualifications
- Experience working in the consulting and benefits industry.
- Experience consulting with benefits providers and understanding their commercial models.
- Strong negotiation skills and track record of building long‑term partner relationships.
- Proven ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate solution value to internal teams and clients.
- Experience supporting sales processes, pitches or client‑facing engagements.
- Understanding of compliance and information‑handling requirements.
Desirable
- Experience with digital marketplaces or technology‑driven benefits solutions.
- Familiarity with implementation processes or professional services delivery.
