Business Development Manager – Marketplace

Location: Leatherhead, Surrey or Haywards Heath, West Sussex (hybrid).

Responsibilities

  • Drive marketplace growth and partner management: deliver sales targets via cross‑sell and upsell strategies.
  • Build and nurture long‑term relationships with marketplace merchants.
  • Track partner performance, uncover growth opportunities and ensure solutions create clear client value.
  • Contribute directly to broader commercial and business objectives.
  • Enable Sales and Customer Success teams with training, insights and materials to confidently sell marketplace solutions.
  • Support Professional Services with solution expertise and implementation coordination.
  • Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless delivery and strong commercial outcomes.
  • Support escalated client queries related to marketplace solutions, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Act as a key link between clients, internal teams and marketplace partners to support smooth onboarding and ongoing adoption.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in the consulting and benefits industry.
  • Experience consulting with benefits providers and understanding their commercial models.
  • Strong negotiation skills and track record of building long‑term partner relationships.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate solution value to internal teams and clients.
  • Experience supporting sales processes, pitches or client‑facing engagements.
  • Understanding of compliance and information‑handling requirements.

Desirable

  • Experience with digital marketplaces or technology‑driven benefits solutions.
  • Familiarity with implementation processes or professional services delivery.
