About Chevron Traffic Management
Chevron Traffic Management sets up temporary road or lane closures, diversions, pedestrian walkways to keep road workers and road users safe during roadworks. The work includes installing road cones, signage, temporary traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and barriers, and is visible all over the country. The role also requires consulting, planning, designing, estimating and liaising with suppliers and customers to ensure schemes are fit for purpose, and involves innovation and technology to improve safety and reduce carbon footprint.
About the Role
This high‑profile and critical role oversees all regional activities, expanding the client base and delivering and developing the business. You will penetrate new markets, increase business growth with new and existing customers, forge relationships with potential new customers, and maintain solid relationships with current customers to secure repeat business. While motivating and leading your team, you will deliver an effective and efficient first‑class service, ensuring your workforce has relevant training and skills. You will also ensure effective communication of toolbox talks, safety alerts and other contract methodology, collaborate with colleagues across the group to develop best practice solutions, embed management procedures and controls, drive productivity, and be accountable for achieving financial targets, including regular liaison with commercial and finance teams. Health and Safety is paramount – you will be accountable for all depots ESG activities, ensuring adherence to safe working procedures and implementation of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies.
About You
We seek a highly motivated and confident individual. Knowledge of the Traffic Management industry is beneficial, but candidates with Operations, Logistics or Planning backgrounds are also welcome. You should be an excellent communicator and team worker, with experience of identifying and pursuing new business leads, adaptable and flexible in fast‑paced environments, and able to establish dynamic working relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues built on trust and delivery.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience in Traffic Management, Construction, Utilities or a similar industry
- Experience leading a team within an operational environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships and network with sector stakeholders
- Numeracy skills to manage budgets and bid costings
- Pragmatic and ability to create solutions that meet business needs
- Collaborative approach
- Proficient in PC, Microsoft Office and other business management systems, and ability to work with remote technology
- Local knowledge of the region’s construction and maintenance market, particularly National Highways, local authority highway maintenance and utilities highways works

- Lantra Sector Scheme qualifications (beneficial)
- IOSH Managing Safely/SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent
- Other formal commercial or business management qualifications
