Consultant in Restorative Dentistry Services – Bristol Dental Hospital

Applications are invited for an NHS funded post of Consultant in Restorative Dentistry Services at the Bristol Dental Hospital; part time 9 PA’s on a temporary contract to cover a period of maternity leave. The appointee will be welcomed within an integrated and collegiate Restorative Dentistry services team.

No on-call commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership, dental advice and treatment within the specialty of Restorative Dentistry.
  • Treat patients requiring oral and dental rehabilitation as part of developmental disorders including cleft lip and palate, hypodontia, head and neck cancer, major trauma and periodontology.
  • Interest in trauma, endodontics and dental implant surgery would also be an advantage.

Person Specification – Qualifications & Criteria

  • Fully registered with GDC – Certification of completion of specialist training (CCT) (or equivalent, OR Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) at the point of interview
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (or equivalent) – On the GDC’s Specialist Register for Restorative Dentistry (will consider Perio, Endo or Pros) to start Consultant appointment
  • Candidates can be within 6 months of gaining CCT at the date of interview. Please note this does not apply to CESR applicants.
