Summary
The Nurse Educator is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing standard of care. The Nurse Educator will oversee the AMAP and STNA/CNA educational courses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teamwork with the following and all other duties and responsibilities assigned.
- Effective leadership that includes supporting core values, addressing zero tolerance behaviors and maintaining active communication with clinical and personal care employees.
- Development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and personal care education and training on industry required topics and best practices.
- Assist with the implementation and development of performance improvement.
- Development, implementation, and evaluation of an in‑house Certified Nursing Assistant training program.
- Assist clinical leadership team with clinical rounding protocols and survey compliance.
- Development, implementation, and evaluation of a clinical and personal care staff mentoring program to aid in new and tenured employee success and engagement.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical strategy and organizational positioning to improve and diversify clinical outcomes and systems.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of efficient and effective clinical services software deployment and utilization across all lines of business.
- Act as a regulatory, case mix, and quality measure resource to the clinical services staff.
- Provides clinical services support for direct care and administrative nursing as required.
- Implements standards of nursing practice reviewing and revising annually to reflect changes in nursing practice.
- Serves as a member of professional staff committees in matters pertaining to Resident care.
- Effectively plans, organizes, and directs staff to ensure excellent care.
- Works in collaboration with department supervisors to ensure compliance with the Orchards’ Mission, as well as federal, state, and local laws.
- Reviews policies and procedures to assist in identifying needs that may affect patient care.
- Collaborates with directors and department supervisors to provide education and training for changes in policies and procedures, and/or an introduction to new policies and procedures.
- Participates in problem solving conferences for resident care.
- Determines if there are specific educational needs.
- Develops and implements orientation for clinical staff.
- Reviews competencies annually in collaboration with clinical directors for all nursing positions.
- Supports, educates, and assesses an environment that optimizes resident safety to reduce errors.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of federal, state, local laws, and accreditation standards.
- Demonstrates the knowledge of proper identification and reporting of medical health care errors, protects the patient in the event of a medical/healthcare error and assists in medical/health care error resolution.
- Demonstrates knowledge of principles of staff development, organization, and management.
