Job Description:

TXM Recruit are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance & Data Protection Officer, this role is critical in ensuring full alignment with company policies and standards, covering key compliance areas such as anti-bribery, fraud, data protection, human rights, and corporate governance. You will act as the lead Data Protection Champion across all businesses, providing expert guidance, oversight, and support on data protection, retention, and broader compliance matters. Working closely with Group Compliance, you will help drive a consistent, streamlined, and effective compliance framework across the organisation.

This role is 6 months fixed term contract!

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Manage and maintain corporate compliance and data protection frameworks across the business unites
  • Ensure a consistent and streamlined approach to compliance controls, processes, and documentation
  • Act as the primary liaison between Group Compliance and other businesses
  • Lead on compliance submissions (H1 and H2) in line with Group requirements
  • Oversee the compliance communications calendar and coordinate internal messaging
  • Identify, escalate, and support resolution of non-compliance issues
  • Conduct compliance assurance activities and provide SME support across the business
  • Lead on data protection matters, including guidance, communications, and investigations
  • Support governance activities, including DPIAs and ROPA maintenance

Ongoing Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training and awareness initiatives across key compliance areas
  • Respond to employee queries and incidents relating to compliance
  • Monitor compliance maturity and continuous improvement progress
  • Track completion of mandatory training and follow up on outstanding items
  • Maintain and regularly update compliance registers (e.g. anti-bribery, conflicts of interest)

About You

  • Relevant qualification with at least 2 years’ experience in compliance, risk, or data protection
  • Strong understanding of corporate compliance frameworks and GDPR
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, self-starting approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in process improvement and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams and functions
  • A collaborative team player comfortable working across multiple business areas
