Job Title: Credit Risk Business Analyst

Location: London (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)

Contract Type: Contract 12 months

Start Date: ASAP

Overview:

We are seeking a Credit Risk Business Analyst to support a financial services client in London. This role sits within the Risk and Technology function, focusing on enhancing credit risk processes, controls, and data capabilities across critical systems.

This is a specialist BA role suited to someone with strong credit risk domain knowledge and experience working in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with Credit Risk, Finance, and Technology stakeholders to gather and define business requirements
  • Analyse and document credit risk processes, including:
    • Credit assessment & approval workflows
    • Exposure and limit management
    • Provisioning and impairment (IFRS 9)
  • Translate business requirements into:
    • Functional specifications
    • Process maps
  • Support delivery of risk system enhancements and transformation initiatives
  • Work closely with data teams to define:
    • Data sourcing and lineage
    • Risk reporting and dashboards
  • Assist in UAT planning and execution
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory and internal control frameworks
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to:
    • Data quality
    • Process gaps
    • Control weaknesses

Requirements

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Credit Risk
  • Strong understanding of exposure, limits, and risk metrics
  • Experience working in financial services / banking
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across business and IT
  • Experience with requirements gathering & documentation
  • Experience with UAT coordination
  • Knowledge of IFRS 9 / Basel frameworks
  • Experience with risk or finance systems (e.g. Moody’s, SAS, internal platforms)
  • Data analysis skills (SQL, Excel)
  • Exposure to control frameworks (e.g. GRC, SoD, audit)

  • Comfortable working in regulated, audit-driven environments
  • Able to bridge business and technical teams effectively
  • Proactive and able to work independently in a fast-paced setting
