BMS Controls Engineer – Field Service

Location: Hull area (commutable within 100 miles)

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + Travel money + overtime + loads of company benefits.

Take a hands‑on field service role maintaining, commissioning, and supporting controls systems across a variety of projects. You’ll be out on site most of the time, traveling to client locations within a 100‑mile radius of Hull, with some home/office time for admin and planning.

No two days are the same — you’ll troubleshoot, program, and service control systems while working closely with engineers and managers to ensure projects run smoothly. You’ll also provide technical assistance to clients and internal teams, giving you a varied and highly visible role.

What you’ll do

  • Travel to client sites to program, commission, and maintain BMS and controls systems.
  • Carry out hardware and software installations on control panels.
  • Integrate control systems into electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems (Modbus, Bacnet, or Canbus).
  • Modify new and existing control panels, controls, or equipment onsite.
  • Provide telephone and remote technical support to clients and colleagues as required.
  • Conduct performance testing, complete test reports, and support project delivery.
  • Maintain and service control systems to ensure reliability and uptime.

What you’ll need

  • Experience in installation, commissioning, and servicing of controls systems.
  • Strong technical experience and problem‑solving skills.
  • Confident supporting and challenging other engineers when needed.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems is advantageous but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within a 100‑mile radius of Hull.
