Electronics Assembly Department Manager

Salary

£40,000+ per annum, dependent on experience.

Location

Crawley – must have own transport.

Working Hours

Mon–Thu 8:00AM – 4:45PM; Fri 8:00AM – 12:30PM.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Electronics Assembly Department Manager to oversee the daily running and organization of the client assembly department, specialising in electronic systems for the defence and aerospace markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Department Leadership: Manage, organise and motivate the assembly team.
• Production & Planning: Plan schedules for personnel and equipment based on senior management priorities.
• Workflow Creation: Read production drawings and design efficient workflows for new assemblies.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify problems, maintain quality/efficiency, improve 6S standards, and recommend equipment/process upgrades.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to health & safety standards and industry requirements.
• Cross‑Department Collaboration: Liaise effectively with Design, QA and other production teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an equivalent management role within electronics/PCB manufacturing.
• Strong track record of driving production quality and efficiency.
• Ability to analyse production data and implement effective changes.
• Excellent communication skills at all organisational levels.
• Must own suitable transport.
