Senior / Lead / Principal Safety Process Engineers — 2 Roles Available

We are looking to speak with experienced Safety Engineers for two separate opportunities supporting major EPC and energy projects. These roles would suit candidates with a background in technical safety, process safety, loss prevention, or major hazard management, gained within EPC, engineering consultancy, operator, oil and gas, petrochemical, or other high-hazard environments.
Role 1: Senior Safety Engineer
A hands-on role focused on delivering technical safety engineering scopes across engineering and consultancy projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and review technical safety studies, reports, and deliverables.
- Support HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, ALARP, Bowtie, QRA, and risk assessment activities.
- Develop safety philosophies, fire and explosion assessments, EERA/FERA studies, and safety case-related documentation.
- Work closely with multi-discipline engineering and client teams.
- Ensure compliance with UK legislation, client requirements, and relevant industry standards.
Role 2: Lead / Principal Process Safety Engineer
A more senior role focused on process safety leadership across major EPC projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead process safety and technical safety scopes across FEED, detailed design, and EPC projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve safety engineering deliverables.
- Lead or support HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, Bowtie, ALARP, and risk assessment workshops.
- Provide input into major hazard management, Safety Critical Elements, performance standards, QRA, FERA, and EERA studies.
- Manage client interfaces, technical queries, project assurance, and safety deliverables.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in technical safety, process safety, loss prevention, or risk engineering.
- Background in EPC, engineering consultancy, operator, oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, or major hazard environments.
- Strong understanding of process safety, major hazard management, ALARP, COMAH, DSEAR, and safety case principles.
- Strong report writing, client-facing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Safety Engineering, or similar would be preferred.
- Chartered status, or working towards chartership, would be advantageous.
Highly desirable: Previous Saudi Aramco EPC project experience, particularly candidates who have supported two or more Saudi Aramco projects or UK-based Lead/Principal Safety Engineers with Aramco EPC exposure.
