We’re supporting a growing UK manufacturing business delivering turnkey fabricated and electro-mechanical solutions. With continued investment across engineering and operations, the business is looking to appoint an NPI Manager to take ownership of new product introduction across the site.
This is a key role, working closely with the SLT and acting as the link between design, engineering, and manufacturing.
The Role
You’ll lead New Product Introduction activity from concept through to production, ensuring products are robust, manufacturable, and delivered in line with business objectives.
This is a hands-on leadership position, combining technical ownership with team development and cross-functional delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading NPI projects through a structured stage-gate process from feasibility to production
- Owning DFMEA, verification and validation activity to ensure successful product introduction
- Driving design reviews and engineering governance across projects
- Acting as the technical interface across manufacturing, quality, and operations
- Supporting the introduction of new manufacturing methods and technologies
- Managing engineering resource, capability, and delivery against timelines and budget
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of mechanical and electrical engineers
The Person
You’ll be an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in product development within manufacturing environments, with proven design-to-manufacture experience essential.
Comfortable operating at both a strategic and practical level, you’ll bring a structured approach to problem solving and a track record of delivering products from initial concept through to full production.
You will likely bring:
- Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline
- Proven experience in NPI / product development within manufacturing
- Demonstrable experience taking products from design through to manufacture
- Strong understanding of DFMEA, V&V, and structured development processes
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, quality, and supply chain
- A track record of delivering projects through to production
- Leadership experience, with the ability to develop and mentor engineers
- A structured, delivery-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
- Exposure to multiple manufacturing processes and experience introducing new technologies would be beneficial.
