Job Description:

Business Development Manager – Commercial Kitchen Projects

Location: UK (flexible / field-based)

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + Car Allowance / Company Car + Uncapped Commission

About Us

Swift Foodservice Equipment is a specialist in the design, supply and installation of commercial kitchens, foodservice environments and interior fit-outs across the UK.

With a turnover of £11 million, we deliver projects across education, corporate workplaces, hospitality and public sector sectors, offering a full service from concept design through to installation and handover.

Our strength lies in combining design, technical expertise and project delivery, allowing us to provide complete solutions rather than just equipment supply.

The Role

We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to generate new project opportunities and open doors with key decision-makers.

This is a true business development role — focused on creating your own pipeline, not responding to inbound enquiries.

You will

  • Generate and develop new opportunities
  • Build relationships with the right people early in the project lifecycle
  • Qualify opportunities before involving technical teams
  • Bring in our internal and external designers and specialists at the right stage

This role suits someone who enjoys opening doors, creating opportunities and building a pipeline from scratch — not someone who relies on inbound leads.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively generate leads through:

  • Cold outreach
  • Networking
  • Industry relationships
  • Planning and market intelligence

Build relationships with:

  • Contract caterers
  • End users
  • Architects and consultants
  • Main contractors and developers

Identify and position Swift early in project discussions.

Qualify opportunities, including:

  • Budget and commercial viability
  • Decision‑making structure
  • Programme and procurement route

Manage the early sales process and maintain momentum.

Coordinate with internal design, project management and technical teams.

Ensure only genuine, viable opportunities are progressed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven ability to generate your own pipeline
  • Confident communicator who can open doors and build relationships
  • Commercially focused, with an understanding of project‑based sales
  • Organised and disciplined in managing opportunities

Experience

Background in one or more of:

  • Commercial catering equipment / foodservice projects
  • Interior fit‑out or construction sales
  • Hospitality or contract catering business development

Experience selling solutions or projects, not just products.

Some understanding of commercial kitchens is beneficial, but not essential.

What Success Looks Like

  • Strong pipeline of qualified project opportunities
  • High‑quality leads for design and delivery teams
  • Conversion of opportunities into profitable work
  • Development of long‑term client relationships

Package

  • £35,000 – £45,000 basic salary OTE £65,000
  • Car allowance or company car
  • Uncapped commission based on project profitability
  • Clear opportunity to grow within the business
  • Established £11m turnover business with strong reputation
  • Full in‑house capability (design, technical and delivery)
  • Opportunity to build your own client base and pipeline
  • Real earning potential linked to performance
