Main area Community Mental Health Grade NHS AfC: Band 5 Contract Permanent. Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week (Monday‑Friday 9‑5pm). Job ref 346‑NYA‑043‑26. Salary £32,073 – £39,043 per annum.

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity for a Community Mental Health Practitioner to join the Scarborough Integrated Community team. The service offers assessment and intervention within the community setting and aims to promote both recovery and living well.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assessment, care coordination and intervention within the community for adults with complex mental health needs.• Manage your own caseload and demonstrate excellent assessment, interpersonal, and team‑working skills.• Work collaboratively with statutory and third‑sector agencies to support people’s mental health recovery.• Participate in clinical, management, group and caseload supervision.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Current professional registration with an approved professional body.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • For registered nurses: MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education or willingness to work towards. Qualification must be achieved within agreed timescale.
  • Trained Clinical Supervisor (within agreed timescale).
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent).
  • Post‑graduate qualification in a relevant area.

Experience

  • Working with people with mental ill health.
  • Working in a person‑centred therapeutic organisation.
  • Working in a community setting.
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
  • Working in a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Working in partnership with other agencies.

Knowledge

  • Evidenced based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
  • Care Programme Approach and its application in practice.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
  • Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
  • Clinical Governance and Clinical Supervision.
  • Research and development methodology.
  • Awareness of psychological models of care and treatment.
