Duties
- Lead and motivate the Commercial Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) team to ensure operational efficiency and high‑quality customer service.
- Manage workforce planning to meet fleet demands and optimise workshop productivity.
- Control labour costs, including dealings with third‑party service providers.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards through regular safety audits.
- Plan and oversee the maintenance of workshop facilities, diagnostic tools, and equipment.
- Prepare budgets, investment plans, and monitor performance metrics within the workshop.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase workshop efficiency and profitability.
- Recruit, induct, and develop team members to sustain a motivated and skilled workforce.
- Review and adjust pricing strategies to maintain competitive workshop services.
- Uphold high standards of health and safety across all operational activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Manager or Commercial Service Manager within the automotive industry.
- Demonstrable leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to manage changing priorities effectively.
- Ability to manage budgets, costs, and workshop KPIs efficiently.
