We’re excited to grow our Engineering Team with an Apprentice Electrical Engineer as part of our Professional Development Programme for our 2026 intake. This will be a design office and site-based role across the Severn Trent region.

What Will You Be Doing?

You will report directly to the Regional Electrical (EICA) Discipline Lead and gain hands‑on experience from a highly skilled Electrical engineering team working across Water & Wastewater Treatment projects. Throughout the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to work on:

  • Electrical design
  • Installation
  • Testing and Commissioning
  • Systems Integration
  • Site‑based engineering activities

Your early years will be spent within the design team with a placement either with a nominated supply chain partner or a site placement working alongside the project delivery team.

You’ll work alongside experienced multi‑discipline teams across Severn Trent project sites and collaborate with our design teams at our Derby offices.

What will I need to be considered?

  • GCSEs for English, Mathematics and Sciences at grade 4 or above.
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Have the ability to travel to the office and sites (some of our sites are difficult to access through public transport)
  • A driving licence would be preferred
  • Flexibility – Successful candidates will need to be flexible and willing to spend time in other offices and sites.
  • Great communication skills (Written and Verbal)
