Overview
PALMS is evolving and we want to welcome additional clinicians to be part of our vibrant and multidisciplinary team which includes Clinical Psychologists, Positive Behaviour Analysts, Systemic Therapists, Learning Disability Nurses, Psychiatrists, Mental Health Practitioners, Speech and Language Therapists and Outreach Workers. We are seeking to appoint a Mental Health Practitioner who is a motivated and forward thinking clinician and leader who can work flexibly and are committed to supporting CYP and their families across Hertfordshire and the full PALMS team. This role would be suitable for a number of professions including: Mental Health /Learning Disability Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists & Clinical Psychologists depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide mental health support and clinical care to Children and Young People (CYP) who are autistic and/or have an intellectual disability and their families.
- Act as a clinician and leader within a multidisciplinary PALMS team, collaborating with families, networks and other services to support care planning and delivery.
- Work flexibly in both team-based and autonomous settings, maintaining a high level of professionalism in emotive environments.
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement within the NHS team and across PALMS’ services.
Qualifications
- Professional registration for your specialty (e.g., Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist) depending on experience.
- Experience or demonstrated commitment to working with CYP who are autistic and/or have an intellectual disability and their families is desirable.
