Job Title: Contract Manager
Location: Sittingbourne
Salary: £65,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (flexibility required)
About the Role
Alice Rose is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join a leading engineering services provider based in Sittingbourne. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of maintenance operations, leading a team and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality services in line with contractual and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all maintenance operations across the site
- Establish and manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system
- Lead, manage, and develop a team (including appraisals and performance monitoring)
- Allocate workload, schedule tasks, and manage day‑to‑day activities
- Act as the main point of contact for client and team escalations
- Manage budgets, including revenue and capital expenditure
- Oversee procurement and project works
- Ensure all technical aspects of the contract meet client requirements
- Monitor and report on KPIs, driving continuous improvement
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and ISO standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Contract Manager or similar role within building maintenance / FM
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Hands‑on technical background (mechanical and/or electrical)
- Good understanding of PPM systems and maintenance operations
- Strong commercial awareness and basic financial knowledge
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
- Solid IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Desirable
- Experience with CAFM/PPM systems (e.g. Concept 300 / FSI Go)
- Relevant technical qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical NVQ / Apprenticeship)
- IOSH or Health & Safety certification
- Degree in Building Services or Engineering
