Mechanical Contracts Manager, Manchester. We are a well‑established building services contractor delivering mechanical projects across the retail and commercial sectors, from small maintenance works to major mechanical packages valued up to £1M.

Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical plant installations.
• Oversee projects valued up to £1M mechanical packages.
• Lead new build developments, refurbishments, and planned/reactive works.
• Prepare programmes, RAMS, method statements, and other project documentation.
• Collaborate with electrical teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
• Full cradle‑to‑completion management of mechanical packages.
• Coordinate across multi‑discipline project teams.
• Attend site progress meetings.
• Manage budgets, costs, variations, and commercial reporting.
• Review subcontractor quotations and appoint specialist partners.
• Act as the main point of contact for key retail clients.
• Review RAMS and permits to work.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Proven experience managing mechanical projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• SMSTS / Manager‑level CSCS.
