Electrical Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our client in Essex. This contract role is for an initial 12‑month term with a high likelihood of extension and is outside IR35. The position is fully on‑site, 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality electrical design solutions using EPLAN Electric P8
• Develop and maintain detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and design documentation
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust design solutions
• Support project delivery in line with engineering schedules and deadlines
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and client specifications
• Assist with technical problem‑solving and design improvements throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

• Strong, demonstrable experience using EPLAN (essential)
• Background in Electrical Design Engineering within an industrial or engineering environment
• Ability to produce detailed electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Strong understanding of electrical systems design principles
• Experience working within project‑driven engineering teams
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
• Ability to work effectively on‑site in a collaborative environment
