Role Overview
Acorn Education Trust is seeking a skilled and practical Estates Manager to oversee maintenance, safety and day‑to‑day operation of our school sites. The role will be based at Avon Valley Academy, a Wiltshire secondary school, with supportive and reactive responsibilities across Trust schools.
Full‑time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Start ASAP.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational oversight of premises and facilities, ensuring buildings and grounds are safe, secure, compliant and fit for purpose. Work closely with school leaders and the Head of Estates, combining maintenance work with leadership and coordination responsibilities.
Candidate Profile
- Practical, proactive and solution‑focused
- Strong hands‑on trade skills (plumbing, electrical, maintenance or similar)
- Can work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Communicates well and is confident leading others
- Flexible and responsive to a busy school environment
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards across sites
