Overview
Wessex NHS Procurement Limited (WPL) offers a role as Theatres Stock Management Officer within the NHS. The position is part of a team providing an efficient and reliable Materials Management Service across the Trust.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain ward/department stock profiles, including high‑value non‑stock items procured directly from suppliers.
- Produce and analyse reports to recommend and persuade user departments to adopt Trust initiatives such as Standardisation and Rationalisation programmes.
- Coordinate own workload to undertake counts and replenish stock to agreed levels using bar‑code data capture technology.
- Meet ordering and delivery deadlines for consumables, maintain supplies for patient care, and assess clinical requirements for urgent requests (procedural urgency, quality, price, supply route).
- Implement effective ordering and distribution mechanisms and download information into the computerised materials management system.
