Join Our Supportive Team as a Band 5 Staff Nurse on the Neonatal Unit

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 staff nurse to become a vital part of our friendly, experienced, and supportive Neonatal Unit team. As one of three tertiary level 3 neonatal intensive care units, we provide specialised care for sick term and preterm babies.

About Our Unit

  • • 37 cots in total, including 9 Intensive Care, 9 High Dependency and 19 Special Care cots.
  • • Advanced therapies such as cooling therapy, high‑frequency oscillation and nitric therapy.
  • • Transitional Care services that minimise separation for babies and their families, fostering a nurturing environment.
  • • Well‑established outreach and research team dedicated to advancing neonatal care.
  • • Green accreditation in Family Integrated Care and Stage One Baby Friendly Accreditation.

Family‑Centered Care

We prioritise partnership with families, empowering them to care for their baby and promote a seamless transition from hospital to home. We are working towards accreditation under the Baby Friendly Initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Care for critically ill newborns.
  • Collaborate with families to educate and support them in caring for their baby.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and initiative.

Eligibility

This vacancy is open to individuals who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK, or who are currently enrolled on a course that will result in a full NMC PIN within the next three months. An NMC PRN PIN does not fulfil the essential criteria for this role. International Nurses who have not yet completed all competencies required for a full NMC PIN may not apply, as the OSCE programme has been paused indefinitely.
