Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse
We are seeking applications for a permanent post for a Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist. The role will have responsibility for Tissue Viability across both Shrewsbury and Telford sites and involve cross-site working. It will involve working closely with all disciplines both internally and externally and will report directly to the Lead Nurse for Tissue Viability.
The post holder will need to demonstrate experience in assessment and management of patients with tissue viability needs and act as an expert resource in all aspects of tissue viability practice. This role involves both clinical and non‑clinical work, requiring adaptability to changing priorities and demands. It is an excellent opportunity to expand clinical and leadership experience.

Main Duties of the Job
- Support delivery of an evidence‑based Tissue Viability Service at the Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust as part of a multi‑disciplinary approach to patient care.
- Take an active role in developing a Tissue Viability Service across the organisation.
- Improve, maintain and monitor the quality of Tissue Viability through audit of practice, surveillance, education and strategic planning.
- Work autonomously and seek collaborative relationships across and within professional boundaries, acting as an expert resource in Tissue Viability and providing support, education and leadership.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (1st level).
- Degree in nursing, a relevant related subject or equivalent experience.
- Post‑registration teaching qualification or evidence of appropriate experience.
- Ability to study at first degree/master’s level.
- Recognised Tissue Viability/leg ulcer module at degree level.
- Trained and competent in conservative sharp debridement.
- Willingness to undertake further recognised Tissue Viability modules at degree/master’s level.
Experience
- Significant experience as Tissue Viability or District nurse or evidence of extensive experience in the field.
- Experience of change management, team management and clinical nurse leadership.
- Evidence of ongoing continuing professional/academic development.
- Experience as Tissue Viability link nurse or contributing to service development.
- Multi‑disciplinary/multi‑agency working.
- Ability to undertake research.
- Ability to undertake audit.
- Involvement in service review and development.
- Project management experience.

Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 a year, pro rata.
