Senior Claims Adjuster – Casualty
City of London – Hybrid
Key Responsibilitie
- sManage a diverse portfolio of Casualty claims from initial notification through to final resolution, assessing coverage, liability, quantum, reserving, and claim strategy throughout the claim lifecycle
- .Ensure compliance with delegated authority limits, reserving philosophies, claims handling standards, and referral procedures at all times
- .Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including policyholders, brokers, co-insurers, actuaries, and underwriters, to achieve effective claim outcomes
- .Instruct, oversee, and manage panel solicitors, loss adjusters, and third-party administrators (TPAs), providing technical guidance and exercising financial authority where appropriate
- .Maintain accurate and comprehensive claim files, ensuring high standards of record keeping and documentation
- .Uphold the Claims Charter and Code of Conduct, consistently delivering excellent customer service and positive client outcomes
- .Support the Claims Manager and Head of Casualty Claims with audit activities, management reporting, and operational requirements
- .Contribute to business initiatives by sharing market insights, supporting research projects, and helping develop claims and underwriting strategies
- .Raise the profile of the Claims team through participation in market meetings, industry events, and collaboration with business development teams to identify growth opportunities
- .Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and conduct standards, including SMCR, Solvency II, Treating Customers Fairly principles, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing obligations

- t.Strong understanding of claims handling principles, coverage analysis, reserving practices, litigation management, and casualty insurance product
- s.Sound knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and compliance requirement
