About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Inventory Manager to lead and optimise warehouse inventory operations within a fast-paced logistics environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, compliant, and accurate management of inventory while driving improvements in productivity, service levels, and warehouse performance.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Inventory Operations

  • Oversee daily warehouse activities including goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Ensure accurate stock management and on-time order fulfilment.
  • Optimise warehouse layout, storage solutions, and operational workflows.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through robust stock control processes and cycle counting programmes.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical improvement initiatives.
  • Drive Lean, 5S, and best-practice warehouse standards.
  • Improve productivity, accuracy, and overall warehouse performance.
  • Reduce waste, stock damage, errors, and unnecessary handling.

Systems & Process Management

  • Utilise WMS and ERP systems to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support system enhancements, barcode scanning initiatives, and process automation where appropriate.
  • Analyse operational data to support informed decision-making and performance improvements.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse teams to achieve operational targets.
  • Implement performance monitoring tools and KPI management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and training activities.
  • Manage workforce planning and resource allocation during peak operational periods.

Cost & Performance Management

  • Drive operational efficiencies to reduce costs and improve productivity.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators to senior leadership.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimise labour planning and warehouse performance.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations.
  • Promote safe working practices through training and leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.

About You

You are a hands-on leader who enjoys improving processes, solving problems, and delivering measurable results. You take ownership, lead by example, and have a track record of driving positive operational change.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in warehouse management or inventory leadership roles, ideally within logistics, freight, distribution, or supply chain environments.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse operations, and stock accuracy management.
  • Experience redesigning warehouse layouts and improving storage efficiency.
  • Demonstrated success delivering process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with WMS and ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of Lean, 5S, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.
  • Forklift licence.
  • Dangerous Goods awareness or related logistics compliance training.
