Be Part of the Future of Sustainable Housing
As part of IDEAL Heating’s design team, you’ll contribute to the Home Energy Model (HEM) – the new methodology for assessing the energy performance of new-build homes. Introduced to support the Future Homes Standard, HEM is helping drive the transition to lower-carbon housing by improving the efficiency of new-build homes, with heating systems playing a pivotal role.
You’ll be involved in designing heating solutions that meet these evolving standards, contributing to one of the UK’s most significant carbon reduction initiatives and helping shape the future of energy-efficient homes.
The Role
As a Heating Systems Designer, you will:
✔️ Produce detailed heating system designs and drawings
✔️ Specify and match IDEAL Heating product ranges to project requirements
✔️ Liaise with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions
✔️ Ensure designs comply with internal standards and current legislation
✔️ Manage design revisions and technical information throughout the project lifecycle
✔️ Take ownership of projects from initial enquiry through to completion.
About You
We’re looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
✔️ Excellent communication and customer service skills
✔️ Strong organisational and time management abilities
✔️ High attention to detail and accuracy
✔️ Confidence working both independently and within a team
✔️ Good IT skills and the ability to interpret technical information.
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification would be advantageous. Experience with central heating design principles or Revit is beneficial, although full training will be provided to support your development.
