The role
- 0.2 FTE (1 day per week), 12-Month Fixed Term (initial)
- Remote (UK-based candidates only)
- Salary: £9,000 per annum (£45,000 FTE, pro rata)
- Reporting to ECA UK nominated lead
- Education environment experience is essential (HE preferred)
ECA UK is seeking a Governance and Administrative Support Officer to provide practical, hands-on support to Academic and Compliance Director and Board of Governors during an important stage of institutional development.
This is a part-time, remote role suited to someone with higher education quality assurance or governance administration experience, who enjoys bringing structure, consistency and momentum to governance work.
The areas below reflect the general scope of the role; specific tasks and priorities will vary and be set collaboratively each week:
Weekly Planning and Prioritisation
· Agreeing priorities, tasks and deliverables for the week ahead
· Reviewing outstanding actions and upcoming admin/ governance requirements
Documentation and Quality Support
· Reviewing governance and institutional documents for consistency, formatting and version control
· Supporting the maintenance of document repositories and evidence libraries
· Assisting with document organisation and records management
Process and Systems Support
· Identifying practical improvements to governance administration and document management processes
· Supporting the implementation of efficient, scalable administrative practices appropriate to ECA’s current stage of development
Governance Administration
· Supporting the organisation and administration of Board of Governors and Academic Board meetings
· Coordinating meeting documentation and papers
· Preparing draft minutes, action logs and governance records
· Maintaining governance documentation and filing systems
Action Tracking and Coordination
· Maintaining action trackers and governance-related workplans
· Monitoring agreed deadlines and following up on outstanding actions
· Coordinating administratively with relevant internal stakeholders as required
What we’re looking for
· Essential: experience in higher education quality assurance, governance support, or academic administration
· Strong organisational and drafting skills, with close attention to detail and version control
· Comfortable working independently in a remote, part-time capacity while staying responsive to weekly priorities
· Familiarity with Board/committee servicing (agendas, papers, minutes, action logs) is a strong advantage
· Discretion, reliability and a methodical approach to documentation and deadlines
