What you’ll bedoing:
Within the WarshipTechnical Authority, WTA, you will provide engineering support toprogrammes and projects across Warship Support, including RoyalNavy surface ship contracts, international naval support, andinternal and external consultancy activity.
As aSenior Combat Systems Engineer, you will contribute to deliveringcore service elements such as design change, technical assurance,material state and obsolescence management, specialist support,and future support planning. You will support technical leadership and wider systemsengineering, following agreed training and people‑managementprocesses.
Coreduties:
- Providingcombat systems engineering support across a wide range of platformsand programmes, encompassing Combat Management Systems, sensors,effectors, networks and weapons systems, while supporting CSMplatforms, non‑CSM tasks and international naval programmes asdirected
- Supporting assigned project(s)Principal and Senior Engineers liaising with internal and externalstakeholders (MOD, Overseas Navies, OEMs and project teams) whererequested
- Assisting with the maintenanceplatform of systems design integrity across diverse engineeringcontexts, including pan class and cross programmedeployments
- Supporting structuredinvestigations, impact assessments and integration analyses acrossplatform systems for assigned projects to drive evidence-baseddecisions as directed by project(s) technical lead(s)
- Supporting safe, efficient implementation of platformsystems design change by supporting maintenance of configurationcontrol and holistic integration across affected domains
- supporting with collation of evidence for safety casemaintenance and Naval Authority/Customer certificationsubmissions
- Supporting the WTA Combat Systemstechnical lead for your assigned project(s) and the Hub asdirected
Essentialskills:
- You will haveknowledge of typical UK naval domains with background in combatsystems, electrical engineering or munitions
- Understanding of defence and maritime standardsapplicable to UK MOD and an awareness for overseascustomers.
- You will demonstrate a soundunderstanding of the engineering lifecycle
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Systems/CombatSystems/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and acommitment to working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng)status
The WTA CombatSystems Team:
This position sitswithin the Warship Technical Authority (WTA) Service Hub, part ofthe Asset Managementteam within Warship Support. The WTA delivers Naval whole ship,systems and equipment engineering support and change management
