EHS Coordinator

37.5 hours per week | L33 7SY | Full Time

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive EHS Coordinator to join the team at Colloids Limited. This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance across the business. The successful candidate will provide professional guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and play a key role in developing a positive and proactive safety culture across the site

Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Advisory:

  • Support the implementation and review of HSE policies, procedures, and standards
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Monitor and communicate changes in regulatory requirements

Risk Management & Investigations:

  • Conduct and review risk assessments across site activities
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses using root cause analysis
  • Support the implementation and tracking of corrective and preventative actions

Audits & Site Inspections:

  • Carry out routine inspections, audits, and compliance checks
  • Support fire safety processes including drills and emergency preparedness
  • Assist in managing first aid arrangements and compliance

Training & Development:

  • Deliver EHS inductions and refresher training
  • Maintain accurate training records
  • Support the development of EHS training programmes to ensure workforce competence

Reporting & Management Systems:

  • Collect and analyse EHS KPI data
  • Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Assist with audit preparation, document control, and continuous improvement initiatives

Environmental & Operational SupportL

  • Provide guidance on waste management and environmental compliance
  • Support operational teams in aligning with HSE best practices
  • Liaise with external regulators and agencies where required

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Experience within a manufacturing or process-driven environment
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH Environmental Certificate (or working towards)
  • Training in COSHH, DSEAR, Fire Risk Assessment, and PUWER
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections
