About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Equity Senior Associate to join a highly regarded Corporate team in London. The team advises private equity sponsors, institutional investors and corporate clients across the full spectrum of private equity and M&A transactions.

The practice is particularly recognised for its work on:

  • Private M&A transactions
  • Leveraged buyouts
  • Joint ventures
  • Co-investments
  • Secondary transactions
  • GP-led transactions
  • Corporate and investment structuring

This role offers significant client exposure, responsibility for leading transactions, and the opportunity to work on complex, high-value domestic and international deals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage private equity transactions, reporting directly to partners where appropriate.
  • Draft, review and negotiate key transaction documentation.
  • Advise clients on a broad range of private equity and corporate matters.
  • Manage transaction processes from inception through to completion.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering commercially focused legal advice.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers.
  • Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams on complex cross-border matters.
  • Keep up to date with legal and market developments affecting the private equity sector.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and support the continued growth of the practice.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 5–10 years’ PQE (or equivalent).
  • Strong private equity and corporate M&A experience gained at a leading law firm.
  • Extensive experience drafting and negotiating equity documentation, including investment agreements and articles of association.
  • Excellent technical legal skills and commercial judgement.
  • Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple transactions and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
  • A collaborative approach and strong relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues.
  • A strong academic background.
