About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Equity Senior Associate to join a highly regarded Corporate team in London. The team advises private equity sponsors, institutional investors and corporate clients across the full spectrum of private equity and M&A transactions.
The practice is particularly recognised for its work on:
- Private M&A transactions
- Leveraged buyouts
- Joint ventures
- Co-investments
- Secondary transactions
- GP-led transactions
- Corporate and investment structuring
This role offers significant client exposure, responsibility for leading transactions, and the opportunity to work on complex, high-value domestic and international deals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage private equity transactions, reporting directly to partners where appropriate.
- Draft, review and negotiate key transaction documentation.
- Advise clients on a broad range of private equity and corporate matters.
- Manage transaction processes from inception through to completion.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering commercially focused legal advice.
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers.
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams on complex cross-border matters.
- Keep up to date with legal and market developments affecting the private equity sector.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and support the continued growth of the practice.
Qualifications
- Approximately 5–10 years’ PQE (or equivalent).
- Strong private equity and corporate M&A experience gained at a leading law firm.
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating equity documentation, including investment agreements and articles of association.
- Excellent technical legal skills and commercial judgement.
- Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple transactions and meet demanding deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
- A collaborative approach and strong relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues.
