Finance Operations Administrator (AAT Trainee) – Wrexham
Salary:
Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, the Finance Operations Assistant will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the Bank. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting and finance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career, working alongside experienced professionals in a regulated financial services environment while building strong technical and operational accounting knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day financial operations of the Bank, including bank reconciliations, cash management activities, and reconciling items.
- Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and operational payments.
- Support the preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and ensuring financial records.
- Contribute to month-end activities, management reporting and routine accounting processes across the finance function.
- Develop an understanding of end-to-end finance processes, accounting principles, regulatory requirements and operational controls within a regulated banking environment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent). A-levels, BTEC or equivalent qualification.
- Commitment to studying towards an AAT qualification
Desirable
- Previous finance, administration or office-based work experience.
- Good Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately and methodically.
- Experience of working with financial systems.
