We’re partnering with a growing construction specialist delivering complex refurbishment and high-specification building projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Procurement Manager to join their collaborative procurement team in Medway, Kent.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering technically challenging, high-value projects, while contributing to the ongoing development of procurement processes and specialist supply chain capability.
The Role
As a Procurement Manager, you will take ownership of procurement activities across live and pre-construction projects, ensuring packages are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with technical, quality, and compliance requirements. You’ll work closely with commercial, estimating, and project teams in a fast-paced environment, supporting the delivery of complex and often business-critical packages.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement of subcontractor, consultant, and specialist packages
- Prepare and issue tenders, analyse bids, and complete detailed technical and commercial comparisons
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, programme, and risk allocation to achieve best value
- Manage high-value and technically complex packages across multiple projects
- Ensure procurement aligns with project budgets, programmes, and overall delivery strategy
- Maintain accurate procurement trackers, schedules, and reporting
- Identify cost-saving, innovation, and value engineering opportunities
- Support the development of a robust and reliable specialist supply chain
- Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior team members (no direct line management)
- Collaborate closely with commercial, estimating, and operational teams
About You
- Proven procurement experience within construction
- Experience working on specialist construction projects involving complex packages
- Strong commercial awareness with experience negotiating subcontract packages
- Comfortable working with technical specifications, compliance requirements, and detailed scopes
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical ability
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
