Business Development Manager
Location: UK (Hybrid/Field-Based)
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 DOE + Bonus + Car Allowance
A leading UK engineering business specialising in rotating equipment and electrical machine solutions is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to support its next phase of growth.
Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, you will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, identifying strategic markets, and expanding relationships across the power generation, industrial, utilities, marine, rail, and heavy engineering sectors.
The Role
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK and Internationally.
- Build and manage relationships with OEMs, end users, EPCs and service providers.
- Work closely with the CCO to develop and execute the company’s commercial growth strategy.
- Generate and manage a strong sales pipeline from initial enquiry through to contract award.
- Conduct customer visits, deliver technical presentations and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions and customer meetings.
About You
- Proven business development or technical sales within the manufacturing sector
- Experience within rotating equipment, motors, generators, power generation, electrical engineering, or a related engineering sector desirable but not essential
- Strong track record of winning new business and developing long-term customer relationships.
- Commercially driven with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable engaging with engineering managers, procurement teams and senior stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative leadership team.
