Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Purchase Manager role based in Leicester. The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices and contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. Daily tasks include evaluating supplier performance, monitoring inventory levels, processing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. The role involves collaborating with operations, finance, and other internal teams to forecast demand, control costs, and support business goals. The Purchase Manager will also review market trends, identify opportunities for savings, and implement procurement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in purchasing or procurement management, ideally within logistics, distribution, or a related industry.
  • Strong skills in supplier sourcing, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation, with a focus on cost control and quality assurance.
  • Ability to manage inventory levels, analyse demand and supply data, and optimise purchasing schedules to support operations.
  • Proficiency with procurement or ERP systems and solid skills in MS Office (especially Excel) for reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Proven organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple purchasing activities and deadlines.
  • Relevant qualification in supply chain, business, procurement, or a related field; professional purchasing certifications are an advantage.
  • Understanding of basic financial principles, budgeting, and cost analysis related to procurement activities.
  • Commitment to ethical purchasing practices and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
