Job Description:Reporting to the Logistics Manager Utilising the transport management software to ensure that the scheduling of vehicles is carried out effectively and efficiently to achieve the optimum transport plan Plan to ensure that customer service criteria requirements are met at all times Ensure that the plan is clearly communicated to all necessary parties. Working closely with our Cargo Handling team as well as other divisions as required Must have experience of working as a Transport Planner Experience within a logistics working environment Able to work under pressure in a time critical environment Ability to communicate at all levels. Analytical skills Computer literate including Microsoft Office Good geographical knowledge of UK. Reliable, enthusiastic and flexible in approach Experience of the shipping industry and VBS system would be advantageous Working knowledge of transport management IT systems would be advantageous although full training will be given Negotiable depending on experience 45 hours/week On call/weekend cover on a rota basis Group Pension Scheme Life Assurance 2 x salary after successful completion of probation Health Cash Plan after successful completion of probation Cycle to work scheme Refer a Friend Introductory Bonus
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Planner to join the logistics team at our office in Dock Gate 20, Southampton.
