H9 Talent Solutions have partnered with a leading Engineering & Construction Consultancy with over 30 years experience supporting innovative projects within the Renewable Energy, Thermal Power, Hydropower & Clean Energy sectors. You will join an established team and support projects across the full project lifecycle, from early design stage through to commercial operations. Hybrid working available with 2-3 days in the office in South Manchester.

The Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering electrical engineering packages across a portfolio of renewable energy projects, including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Wind, Hydrogen, and associated grid infrastructure. Working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment, the role will oversee projects from feasibility and concept design through detailed engineering, procurement, construction support, commissioning, and handover.

The successful candidate will act as the primary interface between clients, developers, DNOs, contractors, and internal engineering teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical and regulatory standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, ideally chartered CEng or working towards chartership.
  • Ideally a recognised project management certification, such as APM, PRINCE2, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex industrial and power generation projects, including technologies such as Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Wind Energy, Energy-from-Waste (EfW), and Carbon Capture facilities.
  • Proven construction management experience across a diverse portfolio of power generation and energy infrastructure projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of industrial electrical systems, including LV and HV infrastructure, embedded generation, substations, transformers, and switchgear installations.
  • Practical experience witnessing and managing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) both within the UK and internationally.
  • Ability to inspect, assess, and identify defects or quality issues in manufactured, fabricated, or installed equipment and systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and welfare standards applicable to the energy and power generation sectors.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience chairing client and contractor meetings and producing high-quality technical reports, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
  • Recognised project management certification, such as APM, PRINCE2, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Capable of contributing effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams while also working independently and taking ownership of key project activities when required.
