Estimating Manager

Location: Essex

Future Build Recruitment are currently working with a well-established façades and cladding contractor in their search for a Head of Estimating.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected business in a senior leadership role, taking ownership of the estimating function with a clear pathway to Director level for the right individual.

The Role

As Head of Estimating, you will lead the estimating department, overseeing all pre-construction pricing activities and ensuring accurate, commercially competitive tenders are produced. Working closely with senior management, you will play a key role in the continued success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating department.
• Oversee multiple tenders from enquiry through to submission.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Produce accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
• Work closely with the commercial, design and operational teams.
• Mentor and develop the estimating team.
• Improve estimating procedures and pre-construction processes.
• Report directly to senior management.

Skills, Experience & Qualification

• Proven estimating experience within the façades and cladding sector.
• Strong technical understanding of façade systems and external envelope packages.
• Previous leadership or management experience is desirable.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ambitious and looking for a genuine route into a Director-level position.
