Location: Aylesbury

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 basic

OTE: £45,000 – £55,000+

This is for a recruiter who knows temp markets, moves quickly, keeps candidates under control, and can fill bookings without needing their hand held.

About the role

Dara People is growing its Trades & Labour desk and needs a practical, high-activity Recruitment Consultant to help supply reliable blue-collar workers into construction clients across the UK.

You’ll be working live roles, building candidate pools, speaking to site contacts, arranging starts, taking references, handling no-shows, and keeping the desk moving day to day.

This is not a passive resourcing role. It suits someone from construction recruitment, trades and labour, industrial, logistics, driving, or another fast-paced temp recruitment market.

Key responsibilities

  • Fill live trades and labour bookings quickly and accurately
  • Speak to candidates daily and check availability
  • Build reliable pools of labourers, groundworkers, plant operators, gangers, supervisors, decorators, plasterers and multi-traders
  • Register candidates and complete basic screening
  • Take references and check suitability before submission
  • Keep clients updated before they need to chase
  • Re-engage old candidates and lapsed client contacts
  • Support existing accounts and help develop new business
  • Manage starts, no-shows, replacements and daily issues
  • Keep CRM records accurate and up to date

Requirements

  • Previous recruitment experience
  • Background in trades and labour, construction, industrial, logistics, driving or high-volume temp recruitment
  • Strong phone manner and confidence making daily calls
  • Good organisation, follow-up and attention to detail
  • Ability to work at pace and manage multiple moving parts
  • Confidence dealing with candidates, site contacts and clients
  • Resilient, direct and comfortable working to clear activity targets

Desirable / nice-to-have background

  • Experience filling blue-collar construction roles
  • Existing understanding of site-based trades and labour requirements
  • Temp desk experience with live bookings, availability checks and same-day issues
  • Experience developing warm accounts or reactivating lapsed clients
