I’m currently partnering with one of the world’s leading providers of Critical Facilities Management and Data Centre Services to recruit several Senior Technical Managers as part of the continued growth of their Mission Critical division.
If you’re an experienced Technical Manager, Technical Authority, Authorised Person or Senior Engineering Manager with a background in Data Centres, Critical Infrastructure, Power Generation, Nuclear, Defence, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing or other high-availability environments, this is an opportunity to step into a strategic technical leadership role with genuine career progression.
The Opportunity:-
You’ll be the technical authority across a portfolio of mission-critical facilities, ensuring engineering excellence, operational resilience and compliance across complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
Working alongside an experienced leadership team, you’ll provide technical governance, support major engineering activities, mentor engineering teams and ensure the safe delivery of maintenance, projects and critical operations in environments where uptime is everything.
This is a highly visible leadership position offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence technical standards across a world-class data center operation.

• Act as the senior technical authority for HV/LV infrastructure, permits, switching programmes, RAMS and Safe Systems of Work. Must be HV AP as a min.
• Review and approve SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, switching schedules and technical documentation.
• Lead technical investigations, root cause analysis and post-incident reviews, implementing robust corrective actions.
• Drive engineering compliance, governance and audit readiness across all critical systems.
• Develop engineering capability through mentoring, competency management and structured technical training.
• Build strong client relationships, acting as the senior technical representative during meetings and operational reviews.
• Identify operational risk, improve resilience and drive continuous technical improvement across the estate.
• Support succession planning and help develop the next generation of technical leaders.

You’ll have a strong technical background with experience operating within highly regulated, business-critical environments where reliability and safety are paramount.
You’ll likely bring experience in one or more of the following:

- Utilities
- Heavy Industrial Engineering
You’ll also have:

- Experience leading engineering teams within critical environments.
- Knowledge of HV/LV operations, permit systems and engineering governance, with a min HVAP status.
- Experience reviewing technical documentation including SOPs, MOPs, EOPs and RAMS.
- A proactive, risk-based approach to engineering and operational decision making.
- Senior Authorised Person status (or the capability to work towards SAP).
