An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a leading engineering and manufacturing company. Reporting to the General Manager and forming part of the Senior Management Team, this role will play a key part in delivering business objectives, driving product innovation, and leading a high-performing engineering function.

The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of heavy-duty mobile equipment. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a strong technical background, excellent people management skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions to deliver innovative, customer-focused products.

Key Responsibilities

*Lead, coach and develop a team of engineers responsible for the design, development and continuous improvement of heavy-duty machinery

*Manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards

*Work closely with operations, quality, sales, service and supply chain teams to translate customer requirements into engineering solutions

*Drive engineering best practices across design control, change management, verification and validation activities

*Plan and manage engineering resources and budgets to support business priorities and product development objectives

*Ensure customer feedback and market requirements are incorporated into new product development and existing product enhancements

*Lead root cause investigations and implement effective engineering solutions to improve product reliability and performance

*Support new product introduction activities, ensuring quality, cost and delivery targets are achieved

*Develop and maintain standards for product safety, performance, functionality and reliability

*Ensure engineering data is managed effectively through established systems and processes

*Drive component and sub-assembly standardisation initiatives to improve quality, serviceability and cost efficiency

*Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on continuous improvement, innovation and operational excellence

Requirements

*Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience

*Proven experience in the design, development and launch of heavy machinery or similar industrial equipment

*Previous experience leading an engineering team or function, or operating at a senior engineering leadership level

*Strong project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

*Demonstrated experience of delivering business improvements, cost reductions and operational efficiencies
