Head of Legal

A well-known financial services business who is looking for a Head of Legal to take on the management of the circa eight lawyers and legal professionals in the team. The role will report to the Group General Counsel who is highly experienced and has a great reputation within the business. They are looking for a “Player Manager”, someone who is happy to be hands-on and enjoys working closely with stakeholders, but also someone who would relish the opportunity to develop and set the strategy for the legal team.

Role Responsibilities (in brief)

• Manage, provide guidance and set the strategy for the legal team
• Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts
• Horizon scanning for potential regulatory changes, and communicating to the business as appropriate
• Advising on and helping to resolve complex matters including regulatory interactions, litigation and other complex matters

What they’re looking for?

• Experienced in-house lawyer with at least 7 years of post-qualification experience
• Demonstratable experience drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts
• Experience within the financial services sector is highly desirable
