Visum Recruitment are delighted to be representing our client, a manufacturer within the Fluid Power industry, who are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join them on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role of the Business Development Manager will be to develop new business opportunities and grow existing customer relationships across the UK. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth through proactive business development activities across a diverse range of industries, with a focus on increasing market share for hydraulic systems, fluid power components, electronic control solutions, and compressed air products.

Business Development Manager Job Overview

  • Drive business growth by identifying, developing, and converting new and existing sales opportunities.
  • Develop and implement key account strategies aligned with company growth and profitability objectives.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are progressed and converted effectively.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including purchasing, procurement, engineering, and maintenance teams.
  • Identify customer requirements and develop value-based solutions that deliver mutual benefit.
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals to customers.
  • Work closely with internal sales, technical, engineering, and procurement teams to deliver customer projects.
  • Promote long-term business partnerships through a consultative sales approach.
  • Follow up quotations and enquiries to maximise conversion rates and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct market analysis and customer mapping to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, forecasting, and reporting within company systems.

Business Development Manager Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development or technical sales within the Fluid Power, Compressed Air or Electrical Transmissions industry
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems and Fluid Power Components.
  • Good understanding of Electronic Control Interfaces.
  • Demonstrable ability to identify, qualify, and convert sales opportunities.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a good understanding of sales margins and profitability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
