Role Description The Consultant Solicitor provides high-quality legal advice and representation to corporate and high-net-worth private clients across the practice areas listed above. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Managing client matters from initial instruction through to completion
- Drafting and reviewing contracts and transactional documents
- Advising on corporate and financial risk and structuring
- Handling negotiations in complex commercial or cross-border transactions
The role operates within Ashbourne’s distributed platform, collaborating with other lawyers and using shared resources to support client delivery, while maintaining and developing the consultant’s own client relationships.
Hybrid Working Model In addition to developing and billing their own client base, Consultant Solicitors benefit from Ashbourne’s hybrid model: the firm can also refer and assign clients directly to its lawyers, providing an additional source of work and business development beyond each consultant’s personal portfolio.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in corporate, commercial, and financial law, with the ability to advise confidently on complex matters
- Experience in Private Equity transactions, banking law, and corporate structuring
- Proven track record working with corporate and high-net-worth private clients
- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent legal qualification) with a valid practicing certificate in a relevant jurisdiction
- Proven track record of working independently in a remote or flexible environment, managing caseloads, deadlines, and client communications effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with multilingual and cross-border teams and clients
- Entrepreneurial mindset with established or potential client relationships
- High standards of professional ethics, strong attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning in relevant practice areas
