Senior AI Engineer (SC + NPPV3 Cleared)

Location: (Hybrid – flexible office/remote split)

Rate: Competitive Contract Day Rate (Dependent on experience)

Clearance: Active SC Clearance (Required), NPPV3 (Highly Desirable)

The Role

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to drive the industrialisation of enterprise‑grade AI capabilities across their secure cloud environments. In this role, you will bridge the gap between advanced AI research and mission‑critical production systems.

You will lead the design and deployment of resilient, stateful agentic workflows, scalable RAG architectures, and highly secure interoperability frameworks. This is a hands‑on technical role focused on building sovereign, compliant, and autonomous AI solutions that scale.

What You’ll Do

• Architect Agentic Systems: Design and deploy production‑ready multi‑agent ecosystems capable of advanced tool calling, state management, long‑term memory, and autonomous execution.
• Build Orchestration Pipelines: Create and operationalise complex AI workflows using modern orchestration frameworks (eg, LangChain, LangGraph).
• Secure System Interoperability: Implement cutting‑edge integration patterns—including Model Context Protocol (MCP)—to connect LLMs seamlessly and securely with client data, tools, and Legacy systems.
• Industrialise AI Delivery: Establish reusable architectural patterns, robust evaluation pipelines, and standardised deployment frameworks to move AI from prototype to enterprise scale.
• Integrate Enterprise Data: Develop high‑performance APIs and integrate vector databases into live, automated business workflows.
• Enforce Governance & Guardrails: Embed strict AI safety measures, comprehensive logging, automated guardrails, and human‑in‑the‑loop controls to guarantee responsible, compliant system behaviour.
• Drive LLMOps Excellence: Collaborate on cloud‑native CI/CD pipelines and MLOps/LLMOps practices tailored for highly regulated environments.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Track Record: At least 7 years of deep technical experience designing, developing, and launching scalable AI applications built around LLMs and RAG.
• Active Vetting: Current SC Clearance is mandatory; active NPPV3 is a distinct advantage.
• Enterprise Integration Skills: Proven ability to merge advanced AI workflows with standard IT infrastructure, database systems, and secure networks.
• Production Mindset: Strong commitment to rigorous testing, continuous monitoring, and operational support models for live AI applications.
