Section Engineer

Section Engineer (Plymouth) – Fulltime

Opportunity to work on our BAM Nuttall/Keir JV project in Plymouth, spanning over the next 5 years.

PAYE basis.

£340 – £400 per day depending on experience/qualifications.

Paid Holidays: 30 days per year (including bank holidays).

This role is site based – Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week (07:30am – 17:00pm).

Must Have

• Academic Qualifications – Civil Engineering related Qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng)
• SMSTS
• CSCS – White PQP/AQP or Black Managers
• May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out works and maintaining dimensional control within specified tolerances.
• Managing as‑built drawings, quality records, and drawing registers.
• Supporting inspection, testing, and recording of workmanship and materials.
• Providing technical support and resolving site queries.
• Monitoring progress against time, quality, and design requirements.
• Preparing site sketches and recording instructions.

Experience Required

• Reinforced concrete works including rebar detailing, sequencing, formwork & falsework.
• Temporary Works experience (FRC), including TWD briefs (TWC desirable).
• Short‑term planning experience (6‑week look‑ahead).
• Constructability reviews and planning for heavy FRC works.
• Experience working in secure or regulated environments preferred.
