We’re working with a successful, market-leading business that’s looking to appoint a Category Lead to take ownership of a key product portfolio within its UK operation. This is an exciting opportunity to combine product expertise, commercial thinking and market insight to shape a best-in-class product offering that delivers real value for customers and drives business growth.

The Role

As Category Lead, you’ll become the subject matter expert for your product category, working closely with suppliers, international colleagues, purchasing, sales and marketing teams to ensure the product range remains competitive, commercially successful and aligned with customer needs.

You’ll manage the complete product lifecycle, analyse market trends, identify new opportunities and help deliver category growth through innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with suppliers and international colleagues to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer demand to optimise category performance.
  • Become the technical expert for your category, providing guidance across the wider business.
  • Support sales and marketing teams with product knowledge, training and customer-facing content.
  • Drive category performance through promotional activity and cross-functional projects.
  • Ensure product information, compliance and technical data remain accurate across all channels.

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines commercial awareness with genuine product curiosity.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience in category management, product management or a commercial product role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities.
  • An understanding of product lifecycle management.
  • The ability to understand technical product information and communicate it clearly.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach with a genuine desire to develop expertise within your category.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

What’s on Offer

  • £30,000 – £40,000 DOE
  • Performance-related bonus
  • 23 days holiday, increasing to 28 days with service
  • Company pension
  • Health Care Plan, including contributions towards dental, optical and treatment therapies
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Generous employee discount
  • Genuine career progression and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to make a real commercial impact within a growing business

If you’re looking for a role where you’ll have real ownership, influence key commercial decisions and develop your career within a successful business, we’d love to hear from you.
